For some reason, this post isn't coming to me. There's something I want to say about once again encountering the frustration of trying to submit short stories that are neither cleanly genre nor perfectly literary. I can't quite put my finger on it what is I want to say, and I've deleted about five paragraphs of content that attempted to get at that.
So instead I'll just grumble about the sometimes artificial snobbery on both sides of the fence and go back to writing my book.
Which is also neither cleanly one nor the other...
.Nevets.
I've been there when things aren't going the way you planned and you can feel free to stick your tongue out at me any time.

I hope you find a way to say what you've been trying to say.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, 2we just feel instead of putting words in. :)
ReplyDelete@Clarissa - Thanks! I feel something like a fighter who, when the bell goes off, suddenly doesn't remember his combinations.
ReplyDelete@G'Eagle - Thanks, I hope so, too! :)
@Summer - haha Exactly, I'm showing not telling. That makes this the most finely crafted blog post ever!
Short and sweet.
ReplyDeleteSometimes (most times?) I don´t even know *why* they reject my stories. Today is a day of success, though - got one of my stories in an American e-book anthology - quite cool for a Danish nonentity ;D
ReplyDeleteAnd sometimes you just have to make things happen so I contacted one of the leading Danish reviewers of crime fiction and told him about my debut over there. And HE WANTED A REVIEW COPY!
@Elena - I know. A big change from my usual expansive and bitter.
ReplyDelete@Dorte - That's fantastic news on both fronts! That must be what the blog title was referring to. When I get around to yours in the reader I'll be sure to leave hearty congratulations! You must be dancing!
