I will talk about it more in coming days, but I now launched an author website I've been tweaking and prepping for a couple months now. The site can be found at...
The reason I've gone ahead and escalated the launch before I'm really quite ready to talk about the website in much detail is because I wanted to use it provide people a link to my entry for the Notes from Underground contest.
My entry is very voicey and dark, and I creeped my own self out a little by the time I was done, so if you're easily offended, please just take my word for it and don't read it. Instead, have a friend read it and tell you all about it.
To read the entry, go the website, click on Exclusiweb and then click on I Need This. It will open as a .PDF file.
Enjoy!
And more about the site later, but feel free to explore. There's plenty of interest there.
.Nevets.
You built the website? wow. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to write for the anthology. I really wasn't expecting to be on their list. LOL
ReplyDeleteYour website is very slick. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michelle!
ReplyDeleteSummer -- I built it on wix.com using their tools and a few pre-built template modules and then my own sense of design and website planning.
As for the anthology, my entry actually had nothing to do with what will go in the anthology as you'll probably guess if you decide to read it. I was planning on not thinking too much about what to put in the anthology until it was clear I would actually be in it, to try and control my disappointment if I didn't.
A couple days before, though, I changed my mind and decided that I should have a piece and go with anthology or no-anthology. So I have the first few lines (see the previous blog entry) and a basic concept, as well as the main characters.
I love the quote on the new site. Yep, it would be inevitable.
ReplyDeleteWow! That website is amazing. And that quote from Sublimation...awesome. But damn, can you make the type any smaller, dude? I'm going blind here!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I've heard from more than one person about the type size. I'm far-sighted, so I didn't realize how much of a problem it would be. I'll see what I can do within the design parameters I've stuffed myself into to get the type bigger.
ReplyDeleteLast night I want to do is get bills from Deb's optometrist.
And, Lois -- Our rule of thumb in the lab was the gunkier our hands got, the itchier our faces got. Same was true in gross anatomy class.
I like it. I got myself a Wix site too, about a month ago, but I haven't "connected" it yet. Argh.
ReplyDeleteOkay, all, I adjusted the font sizes on the WIP synposes and the bio Q&A's. Hopefully it's a little better without being too much uglier.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tara! Today I upgraded it and purchased a domain. I'll publicize it once I'm convinced it's working.
